A scarlet cap, a dark forest, and thousands of spores suddenly set in motion.
Around the mature Fly Agaric, Amanita muscaria, fine clouds of spores sweep through the backlight in constantly changing patterns. Released together they become a luminous presence, tracing currents that would otherwise pass unnoticed through the forest. They stream from beneath the cap, break apart and reform, turning a reproductive event into something unexpectedly graceful.
The Spore Dance captures this dispersal in real time. The mushroom becomes the centre of a shifting choreography, its unmistakable red form held steady while the air around it fills with movement. No acceleration is needed. The drama is already there.
