Becoming seen – Blusher Time-lapse

Beneath moss, soil and fallen fragments of the forest, something is already moving. At first, there is little more than a disturbance in the surface and then, slowly, Amanita rubescens begins to rise.

Over hours that normally pass unnoticed, the stem lengthens, the cap expands, and the surrounding substrate shifts to make room for the emerging mushroom. Becoming Seen brings this quiet transformation into a timescale we can actually witness.

Known as the Blusher, Amanita rubescens is usually encountered only after this story has already happened. Time-lapse changes that experience, allowing us to follow the transition from a hidden young fruiting body to the recognisable form of a mature mushroom.

The forest floor becomes part of the story: moss bends, particles move, and the landscape responds to growth. It is a glimpse into the world Mycotopia seeks to reveal – nature not as something static, but as a living process continually unfolding beyond the pace of ordinary human perception.

For a few seconds, that hidden rhythm becomes ours to witness.
