A group of Mycena mushrooms grows from a narrow cavity in decaying wood, exposing the underside of the caps in a tightly layered arrangement. Pale radial gills repeat across the frame, while the surrounding timber introduces rough, irregular textures and deep brown tones.
The composition is driven by contrast between biological order and the fractured structure of the wood. Repetition in the gills creates a strong graphic rhythm, while the confined setting emphasises scale, density and the hidden architecture of fungal growth.
