At first, the forest scene appears almost still. A small group of Shaggy Mane mushrooms rises from the woodland floor, their darkening caps marking different stages of a brief and changing existence.
Then the light reveals what would normally pass unseen.
From the mature cap of Coprinus comatus, microscopic spores drift into the surrounding air. Caught by the backlight, they gather into delicate, smoke-like currents, curling around the mushroom before dispersing into the forest. The fruiting body itself barely moves, yet the space around it suddenly becomes alive.
The Invisible Flight captures this moment in real time. There is no accelerated growth and no time compression. Instead, the camera records a natural act of fungal dispersal as it happens, transforming something almost imperceptible to the human eye into the central movement of the scene.
For a few moments, the invisible becomes visible, and one of the quietest processes in fungal life takes flight.
